REHA FOR THE BLIND IN POLAND 2019 (21st-23rd October 2019)

INVITATION

The 17th edition of the reha Conference will take place on 21-23 October 2019. Once again we will organise a meeting of the blind, visually impaired, THEIR FAMILIES AND FRIENDS, scientists, physiotherapists, guests from Poland and abroad larger than all the previous ones. There are convenient circumstances and IMPORTANT reasons for this:

– More and more people and institutions want to take part in this MULTIDISCIPLINARY event,

– 2019 is the 20th anniversary of the initiation of these meetings.

This is because we met for the first time in 1999. Since then a lot has changed. We live in a „different world”. Blind and visually impaired people commonly take advantage of modern technology. The lives of visually impaired people have changed in the vast majority of countries. When it comes to Poland, almost everyone has at home, at school and at work TALKING devices, mainly computers. Many of us use Braille DISPLAYS , printers, and NOTETAKERS. More and more often we

talk to these devices and they do the commands. This is how the idea of access to information for every citizen is implemented. In OUR PUBLIC SPACE, there are TACTILE PATHS, plans and maps, DRAWINGS, depicting monuments and works of art, multimedia terminals OF INFORMATION. Nearly all of us have talking smartphones, navigation systems, TALKING databases, etc., which can be used in a variety of ways.

The REHA FOR THE BLIND IN POLAND Conference was and still is of great importance in the promotion of these solutions. We want to continue this. Therefore, we invite you to come to Warsaw, take part in substantive sessions, discussion panels, exhibition of new technologies, and numerous accompanying attractions.

The draft programme of the meeting is the following:
